Security Assessment

Secure Code Review

An attacker has all the time they need to find a check missing from a single code path or a key left in the source, and whoever hid a backdoor already knows where it is. We read the code to find these flaws before they do.

FAQ

Secure code review: common questions

What clients usually ask us before we review their code.

What do you need from us?

A copy of the code, as an archive or through read-only access to the repository, and a technical contact who knows it, plus any architecture documentation you have. If the code can't leave your company, we can work on a virtual desktop or a machine you provide.

Our codebase is very large. Do you review all of it?

Yes, though not line by line. Automated scans cover the whole codebase and we review their results by hand, while the in-depth manual review focuses on the most critical parts, which we agree with you based on what they do and how exposed they are. That way the in-depth work goes where the risk is, and you know from the start what the review covers.

Do you use AI on our code?

Only if you allow it. As in our penetration tests, the AI layer is an option: it is not a chatbot but a platform we built in-house specifically for security testing, and you decide which code it may use and whether any of it may leave our infrastructure. Every issue it flags is checked by hand.

Code review or penetration test: which one do we need?

It depends on what you want to find out. A code review brings out issues that a time-limited test from the outside can miss, while a penetration test shows what an attacker can do against the running application. They work well together: when we run both, we verify on the running application what we find in the code.
